Transformer restored, Rand Water confirms

HEIDELBERG – In a statement sent out this afternoon (February 8), Rand Water confirmed that the Mapleton Booster Station has resumed pumping at full capacity.

Rand Water further stated that the recovery of the system will take some time, and that some customers on high lying areas might not get water immediately as the system has been badly depleted.

The Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM) also made a statement this afternoon saying that the municipality’s reservoirs are below 10% and that it could take up to six days to fill up the reservoir while providing the community with water.
