Local cyclist rides for sight

Heidelberg cyclist improves with each race.

A local cyclist has her sight of big things.

On February 20, local cyclist Anet Coetzee took part in the Dis-Chem Ride for Sight cycle race.

The race started and finished at the Boksburg City Stadium.

Coetzee competed in the 116km distance event. Part of the course passed through Heidelberg.

Coetzee completed the distance in 2:59:55.

Out of the 1 298 participants that completed in the cycle race, Coetzee finished 366th overall.

She was the 15th top female to complete the race, and seventh in her age group. Throughout the race, Coetzee’s average speed was 39km/h.

The overall ladies’ winner was Carla Oberholzer with a time of 02:53:54.

Being a dedicated cyclist, Coetzee is constantly exceeding expectations and is a cyclist on the rise.
