Members of the Nigel SAPS arrested a 43-year-old man for possession of an unlicensed firearm and house break-in implements.
Police received information that a man with a firearm was being chased in the Noycedale area on March 24.
On arrival, police found members of the Nigel CPF who explained the man was spotted in the yard of a nearby house by a swimming pool service provider who alerted the CPF.
The man was apprehended with the help of the EMPD.
The man was in possession of a backpack wherein officers found a .38 Special with five live rounds, a screwdriver, a crowbar and a pair of gloves.
He was arrested and will appear in the Nigel Magistrate’s Court soon.
