Police have issued a warning to residents, especially the elderly, about a man who scams people at ATMs.
The man, who is sought by police, changes the language settings on ATMs to isiZulu, after which he then pretends to assist those wanting to use the ATM in changing it back to English.
It is during this time that he sees the person’s PIN and takes their card to withdraw money from the account.
SAPS members urge community members to come forward with any information that could lead to the perpetrator’s arrest.
Anyone with information may contact Heidelberg SAPS on 016 341 0343, 016 341 0350 or make use of the MySAPS App.
