On May 24, Heidelberg Flying Squad members were conducting patrols on the N3 highway at the De Hoek Toll Plaza when they arrested a man in possession of dagga.
Sergeant Vuyisile Ndlovu and Sergeant Elizabeth Dube stopped a taxi travelling from Durban to Johannesburg.
During the search of the vehicle they found a bag filled with dagga.
Upon further investigation, they discovered the bag belonged to a passenger in the taxi.
The man was arrested and detained at the Heidelberg Police Station.
He will appear in court soon.
Heidelberg SAPS station commander Colonel Phiwe Ndwandwe said, “It shows that we are ready to weed out the criminals.”
He applauded the police for a job well done.
