Members of the Duduza SAPS sensitised the community of Masechaba on July 6 about crime.
This follows several crimes that have been reported in the area in recent weeks.
Members of social crime prevention, sector managers and sector police embarked on the awareness campaign.
The main topics of discussion were house robberies and hijackings.
According to Duduza SAPS communications officer Sergeant Harry Manaka, the members tried to sensitise as many residents as possible.
“Members tried to inform as many people as possible on safety measures that can be taken to reduce the risks of hijackings and robberies,” he said.
“The community was also urged to report suspicious behaviour.”
The Duduza SAPS continue to maximise its visibility through various patrols and engagements in the area to curb acts of crime.
