On July 10, Ratanda SAPS received information about a robbery in progress at a farm on Platkoppies Road close to Heidelberg.
Vaal Marina SAPS, Ratanda SAPS, various security companies and the local CPF responded.
The three intruders stole a white Ford Ranger and firearms.
The getaway vehicle was spotted on the R549 on the way to the Vaal Dam area.
A high-speed chase ensued with the suspects losing control of the vehicle and crashing through a fence into another farm.
The trio were apprehended after an on-foot chase.
Two firearms, a cellphone and money were recovered.
The suspects are believed to be from Ratanda and it is suspected a family member of one of the suspects worked at the targeted farm.
They will appear in the magistrate’s court soon on charges of house robbery, possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen firearm and ammunition and discharging a firearm in a municipal area.
