Okae Malao joint operation a success

Operation leads to arrests.

From July 20 to July 24, various Okae Malao operations were held in the Sedibeng district with Heidelberg being one of the areas.

The objective of the operation is to create a safe and secure place for all the residents of South Africa, to uphold and enforce law by preventing and combating crime in communities.

Vehicles were searched during the operation.

The operations were held in the Sharpeville, Boipatong as well as in Heidelberg. Various law enforcement role players formed part of the joint operation.

The duties that were carried out included roadblocks, stop and searches, house searches, tuck shop and spaza shop visits, personal searches, vehicle searches and vehicle tests.

SAPS members recently conducted an Okae Malao operation.

Arrests were made for drunk driving, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, illegal immigrants, public drinking and drug possession.
