Nurse of the year awarded
Olivia Namane received the Nurse of the Year award at the Nigel Old Age Home.
The Nigel Old Age Home awarded the nurse of the year award 2023 to an auxiliary nurse, Olivia Namane, on December 5.
Namane received a certificate of achievement along with a cash prize.
“It is an honour to receive this achievement. The candidates are evaluated throughout the year,” explained nurse Martie Gammie, head of nursing at the Old Age Home.
“We look for various qualities such as neatness on person, punctuality, respect towards seniors and colleagues, respect and compassion toward residents, quality of work, and handling of stock and equipment. The nurse must also show leadership qualities.
“Olivia has succeeded in all the requirements and is loved by the elderly residents and colleagues,” Gammie said in conclusion.
