Plaashuiswinkel honours mothers during special Mother’s Day celebration

Staff members from Plaashuiswinkel shared inspiring Mother’s Day messages, honouring the important role mothers and women play in families and communities.

As communities across the country commemorated Mother’s Day on May 10, staff members from Plaashuiswinkel shared heartfelt messages of appreciation and encouragement to mothers and women in the Heidelberg community.

Owner Melinda van der Merwe, who has been in business for 40 years and is well known for selling genuine sea and freshwater pearls in Heidelberg, said this year saw many families purchasing special gifts for their mothers.

“It has been a privilege serving the Heidelberg community for so many years. We have sold lots of pearls for mothers this year, which shows how much people appreciate and love their mothers.“If you feel that nobody cares, always remember that God loves you and never give up. Continue being a good mother, grandmother and wife,” she said.

Fransie Terblanche said mothers deserve recognition beyond just one day of the year.
