Heidelberg boxing talent Patson “Snyper” Motau fights to draw against Dipheko
Heidelberg’s Patson “Snyper” Motau showed courage, skill and determination in a closely contested Junior Featherweight bout against Ramano Dipheko at Ruimsig Stadium, with the judges unable to separate the two fighters.
Heidelberg boxing talent Patson “Snyper” Motau fought to a draw against Ramano Dipheko in an entertaining junior featherweight division clash at Ruimsig Stadium in Roodepoort on August 29.
The bout formed part of a packed boxing programme sanctioned by Boxing South Africa and promoted by Lucky D Boxing under its slogan, ‘Asidali nawe since 2020’.

The event was broadcast live on SABC Sport, providing a national platform for emerging South African boxing talent. Motau entered the ring to strong support from his Heidelberg supporters, with several local fans making the journey to Roodepoort to rally behind the young boxer.
The contest proved to be a closely fought encounter, with Motau and Dipheko displaying skill, discipline and determination as they battled for supremacy in the ring.

After the final bell, neither fighter could be separated, with the judges declaring the contest a draw. Lucky Dlamini, coach of Lucky D Boxing, praised Motau’s effort and determination, saying the bout would provide valuable experience for the young boxer.
“We are proud of Patson’s performance because he showed great heart, discipline and determination throughout the fight,” said Dlamini.

“A draw is not the result we were hoping for, but it was a competitive bout and a valuable experience for him.
“We will go back to the gym, work on the areas that need improvement and continue preparing him for the next challenge. Patson is still developing, and we believe there is a lot more to come from him.”
