Heidelberg SAPS weekly crime stats report
Police can only respond to criminal activities if they are reported.
Local SAPS released the following statistics on crimes reported in Heidelberg between March 30 and April 6.
The stats have been shared to create awareness in the community about current crime trends in the area.
Sector 1:
(Bergsig, Blinkpoort, Eendracht, Groenfontein, Heidelberg Army Gymnasium, Heidelberg Kloof, Klippoortjie, Koppieskraal, Overkruin, Poortjie, Rooikraal, and rural areas – Spaarwater and Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve).
• Heidelberg Military Base: Theft out of motor vehicle, March 31 at 11:40.
• Spaarwater: Theft from motor vehicle, Spaarwater, April 1 at 16:00.
• R103: Truck hijacking and kidnapping, R103 Alberton Road at 13:00
Property involved: Cash, wheels, cellphone, head lights, and an Isuzu truck.
Sector 2:
(Boschfontein, Heidelberg CBD, Heidelberg Central, Jordaan Park, Klipstapel, Mount Arabel, Shalimar Ridge and Schickfontein).
• Heidelberg CBD: Business robbery, Strydom Street Ackermans Store, April 3 at 13:15.
• Heidelberg CBD: Business burglary, Ueckermann Street, Ons Winkel, April 3 at 16:45.
• Boschfontein: Rape, April 2 at 10:00.
• Heidelberg: Theft general, Hospital Street, April 3 at 17:00.
• Heidelberg Industrial: Theft general, Quality Meat, Marshal Street, March 31 at 12:00.
• Heidelberg: Theft general, Hospital Street, April 3 at 17:00.
• Jordaan Park: Fraud, March 31 at 07:15.
• Heidelberg: Common Assault, Meyer Street, April 1 at 05:00.
• Shalimar Ridge: Common assault, April 5 at 03:00.
• Heidelberg: Common assault, Jacobs Street, April 6 at 00:09
Property involved: Clothes, cash, wheels, cellphone, groceries, tools, and a headset.
Sector 3:
(Bothaskraal, De Hoek, Houtpoort, Rensburg, Lagerspoort, Modderfontein and Steynskraal)
• N3 south highway: Carjacking and kidnapping, N3 south highway, April 2 at 14:30.
• Rensburg: Fraud, April 3 at 12:35
Property involved: Cash, cellphone, and an Isuzu bakkie.
Heidelberg SAPS is calling on community members to report all crimes in their areas.
This will also allow police to focus on hotspot areas.
