Heidelberg crime statistics reveal key hotspots and incidents
The Heidelberg SAPS urge community members to report all crimes in their areas.
The Heidelberg SAPS released these statistics on crimes reported in Heidelberg between November 3 and 9.
They share these stats to create community awareness about current crime trends in the area.
Sector 1:
(Bergsig, Blinkpoort, Eendracht, Groenfontein, Heidelberg Army Gymnasium, Heidelberg Kloof, Klippoortjie, Koppieskraal, Overkruin, Poortjie, Rooikraal, and rural areas – Spaarwater and Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve)
• Koppieskraal: Truck hijacking truck and kidnapping. R103 Alberton Road. November 6.
• Bergsig: Malicious damage to property. Aster Avenue. November 6.
• Blinkpoort: Stock theft. Blinkpoort. November 4.
• Groenfontein: Business burglary. Jacobs Street. November 3. Property involved: Windscreen, DAF truck, trailer, cattle, tablet.
Sector 2:
(Boschfontein, Heidelberg CBD, Heidelberg Central, Jordaan Park, Klipstapel, Mount Arabel, Shalimar Ridge and Schickfontein)
• Boschfontein: Rape. Swaeltjie Street. November 8.
• Heidelberg Central: Residential burglary. Unie Street. November 7.
• Heidelberg Central: Damage to essential infrastructure. Begeman Street. November 8.
• Heidelberg Central: Damage to essential infrastructure. Strydom Street. November 8.
• Shalimar Ridge: Possession of presumed stolen property. Sundesh Street. November 8.
• Heidelberg Ext 5: Malicious damage to property. Schoeman Street. November 5.
• Heidelberg CBD: Theft. Van Der Westhuizen Street. November 3. Property involved: TV, jewellery, copper cable, leaf blower.

(Bothaskraal, De Hoek, Houtpoort, Rensburg, Lasgerspoort, Modderfontein and Steynskraal)
• Rensburg: Murder. Romyn Street. November 9.
• National Road 3: Carjacking and kidnapping. N3 South. November 6.
• Rensburg: Theft. Hoek Street. November 7.
• Steynskraal: Damage to essential infrastructure. Steynskraal. November 9.
• Rensburg: Theft. Coen Labuschagne Street. November 5.
• Rensburg: Theft. JG Strydom Street. November 4.
• National Road 3: Carjacking and kidnapping. N3 South. November 4. Property involved: Toyota Quantum, cellphone, money, copper pipes and cables, gate motor, VW Polo.
The Heidelberg SAPS urges community members to report all crimes in their areas because they can only respond when incidents are reported. It also helps them identify and focus on hotspots
