Heidelberg SAPS weekly crime report: Carjackings and kidnappings among reported crimes
From the CBD to residential areas and the N3, Heidelberg SAPS recorded a range of serious crimes between August 10 and 16.
The following crimes were reported to Heidelberg SAPS between August 10 and 16.
These statistics are shared to create community awareness about current crime trends in the area.
Sector 1
(Bergsig, Blinkpoort, Eendracht, Groenfontein, Heidelberg Army Gymnasium, Heidelberg Kloof, Klippoortjie, Koppieskraal, Overkruin, Poortjie, Rooikraal, and rural areas – Spaarwater and Suikerbosrand Nature Reserve):
• Robbery with firearm, August 14 at 19:58, N3 North Freeway.
• Common assault, August 16 at 15:00, Daffodil Street, Bergsig.
Property involved: Cellphone and money.
Sector 2
(Boschfontein, Heidelberg CBD, Heidelberg Central, Jordaan Park, Klipstapel, Mount Arabel, Shalimar Ridge and Schikfontein):
• Residential burglary, August 13 at midnight, Bosbok Street, Jordaan Park.
• General theft, August 12 at 08:00, Begeman Street, Heidelberg Central.
• Human trafficking, August 10 at 22:00, Von Geusau Drive, Heidelberg Ext 5.
• Assault GBH, August 11 at 22:00, Vaal Street, Shalimar Ridge.
• Common assault, August 14 at 16:25, Schoeman Street, Heidelberg Ext 6.
• Business robbery, August 10 at 09:30, Voortrekker Street, Heidelberg CBD.
Property involved: TV, speakers, nail equipment, cellphones, and a home theatre system.

(Bothaskraal, De Hoek, Houtpoort, Rensburg, Lagerspoort, Modderfontein and Steynskraal):
• Carjacking and kidnapping, August 12 at 18:30, N3 South Freeway.
• Business burglary, August 11 at 17:45, Romyn Street, Rensburg.
• Theft of motor vehicle, August 11 at 23:00, DF Malan Street, Rensburg.
• Carjacking and kidnapping, August 14 at 17:45, N3 South Freeway.
• Theft out of motor vehicle, August 14 at 08:02, R103 Lagerspoort Road, Lagerspoort.
Property involved: GWM LDV, cellphone, money, wallet, bank card, home theatre system, Toyota Hilux, Toyota Fortuner, and a tablet.
