Petitions submitted to Lesedi Local Municipality
Jordaan Park and Heidelberg Central submitted over 600 signatures online as part of their campaign.

With petition season in full swing, Ward Nine recently submitted their petition to Lesedi Local Municipality.
Shalimar Ridge residents marched to the municipality in November to personally hand over a petition to Lesedi Local Municipality executive mayor Mluleki Nkosi.
Jameson Park was next in line, followed by Rensburg and now Jordaan Park/ Heidelberg Central has followed.
The complaints are mainly service delivery related or, in these cases, non-service delivery.
Further complaints are electrical breakdowns, electrical maintenance, refuse removal, street lights, call centre assistance, water outages, sewage spills, infrastructure maintenance, street repairs, road signs not being replaced, traffic laws being violated and not prosecuted, crime in the area and bylaws not being enforced.

Jordaan Park and Heidelberg Central submitted over 600 signatures online as part of their campaign.
Juaandré Heyneke, the person behind the campaign said if LLM does not heed their call, they will source legal help to ensure that the petition and actions get urgent attention.
The response from the municipal officials is the same each time – that they will scrutinise the petition and respond as soon as a meeting is held with all the officials involved.
A comment requested from the LLM was not received at the time of publication.
All the areas that have submitted petitions are awaiting feedback from LLM on what the next step would be.
