The Ward 8 by-election is taking place today (May 24) from 07:00 to 21:00.
Ward 8 covers Rensburg, Shalimar Ridge, Heidelberg Industrial and Heidelberg Agricultural Holdings (Vaaldam smallholdings).
The following also fall within the ward:
• All houses to the righthand side of Meyer Street when driving from Rensburg to Heidelberg, between Benz- and Schoeman streets (which includes End, Van Zyl, Arnoldi, Liebenberg, Viljoen, Rissik, Marshall, Schoeman and Smit streets).
• All the houses between the R23 (Balfour Road) and Voortrekker Street, from Smit Street all the way to the low water bridge (which includes Von Geusau, Graham, Frazer, Blyth, Freeman and Van Driel steerst, and the part of Hospital Street above the low-water bridge towards Von Geusau Street).
Residents can vote at the following stations:
• Laerskool AG Visser (Rensburg residents)
• Shalimar Ridge Primary for residents of Shalimar Ridge, Heidelberg Agricultural Holdings and the abovementioned additional areas.
Residents should remember their green barcoded ID book, smart ID card or temporary IDs to be able to vote.
