Police visits Mountainview Secondary School

School searches are bearing fruit.

Heidelberg SAPS is visiting various schools to make the school a haven and a place where learners can go safely and get the education they deserve.

On July 26, Heidelberg SAPS conducted a school search at Mountainview Secondary School. Police with their Crime Prevention Unit, Crime Security Wardens, Sedibeng K9 Unit, Department of Health, Department of Education, Harvest Outreach, Lesedi Local Municipality, Road Safety Unit, community patrollers and Alpha Trauma joined hands as role players in the search process.

It was the fourth time they went to the school to search for learners and their school bags.

The search was in the presence of teachers to ensure they did everything according to the law.

“I do not doubt that the searches are bearing positive results,” said Heidelberg SAPS station commander Colonel Phiwe Ndwandwe.

“From the first time we started doing the searches until now, the illegal substances have reduced tremendously.

“We would further like to extend our congratulations to the school and its teachers and principal in its effort to maintain discipline and working with the police to promote safety in the school and the school property.”
