Law enforcers educate learners

An awareness campaign and a school search were held.

The Devon SAPS, Social Crime Prevention co-ordinator and communication officer Constable Yvone Skosana, Vispol commander Warrant Officer Sibongile Ndlela, and community patrollers visited Nomnekane Primary School’s Grade Six and Seven learners on January 31.

The role players searched for dangerous weapons and narcotics. Altogether, they searched 240 learners on the day.

“The learners were encouraged to focus on schoolwork and refrain from breaking the law. The safety of the school children on the school premises and in the street is of utmost importance,” said acting station commander Warrant Officer Mbongiseni Zwane.

They also distributed pamphlets to the community.
