Senior golfers tee off the year with a win

Ekurhuleni accumulated 636 points, while Sages only managed 588.

Sue Baugh and Marzia Jonker helped Ekurhuleni Senior Women’s Golf (ESWG) to a 48-point victory over Sages Senior Golf at the Benoni Country Club on January 24.

Baugh and Jonker scored a round of 47 points to take the tournament honours, while the Sages’ Chris and Julie Horn came a close second after accumulating 47 points (counted out).

Sonja Louw and Alta Vester from the ESWG rounded up the podium.

Some 103 players competed as Ekurhuleni teed off the year with a win after earning a combined 636 points, while Sages only managed 588 points.

The ESWG chairperson, Charmaine Stone, lauded the ladies for their hard work, adding that they now have 151 members.
