Greek entertainment at Angelo Mall

Plate-breaking and traditional Greek food coupled with shops and restaurants in the mall decorated with Greek colours and décor turned Nigel into little Greece.

The Angelo Mall celebrated its 16th birthday on June 29 with a Greek Festival.

Greek cuisine, music, dance and learners from Hoërskool John Vorster dressed in Greek attire entertained visitors.

Ekurhuleni Emergency Services showed visitors how to bend flames from a liquid petroleum gas fire.

Big engines and sound also made part of the entertainment as Drift Masters demonstrated the art of drifting with fast cars and lots of smoke.

Shops and restaurants in Angelo Mall decorated their porches with Geek colours and décor.

Ekurhuleni Emergency Services demonstrated flame bending, a technique used to bend flames from liquid petroleum gas fires. The day was a great family outing with stalls and special offers from shops in the mall.

Anika and Zandri van der Merwe and Zane Last said they enjoyed the festival and hoped for more similar festivals for the future.

The Greek Festival was the first of its kind. Management of the Angelo Mall thanked everyone who joined the celebrations and said they were excited to host similar festivals in the future.

Drift Masters demonstrated the art of drifting to much entertainment for young and old.
