Heidelberg residents warned of water interruptions following Hill Reservoir pipe burst

A pipe burst on the supply line to Heidelberg’s Hill Reservoir has prompted temporary water interruptions and reduced pressure in several areas, including Jordaan Park, Bergsig and around Heidelberg Mall, while municipal teams carry out repairs.

HEIDELBERG – Residents in parts of Heidelberg are expected to experience temporary water interruptions or reduced water pressure following a pipe burst on the supply line to the Hill Reservoir.

The municipality released a statement on August 19, confirming that its technical team had identified the burst and would temporarily interrupt the water supply to allow repairs to be carried out.

The affected areas may include Jordaan Park, Bergsig, Heidelberg Mall and some other parts of town.

According to the municipality, the technical team will also attend to water supply lines affecting Jordaan Street, Marais Pretorius Street and Du Preez Street as part of the repair work.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to make the necessary arrangements and use available water sparingly while the repairs are underway. The municipality said an update on the progress of the repair work would be provided
