An enchanted afternoon in Nigel with heartfelt melodies
The afternoon ended with an encore for the top performers.

‘May your heart string melodies,’ was the wish by the organisers of Nigel Community Church for everyone who attended the Heartstrings and Melodies Concert on August 31.
Toekie Tieghi, as the event coordinator, arranged a concert with classical music and exceptional performers. After a light lunch, entertainers were ready to captivate the audience.

The concert began with a piano performance of Invitation to Dance by Paddy Jeffery, who recently turned 80. She has been playing the piano since she was five. She is known as ‘Aunty Paddy,’ and has a rich history of performing at concerts, festivals, and talent shows. She has also been a dedicated music teacher, inspiring many students.
The baritone, Andries Aldrich performed his solo pieces of Shall we Dance and Mali die Slaaf se Lied. He also performed the duets, Memory, Belle Nuit, Moon River and Some Enchanted Evening with Tracey Booyens.

Aldrich is known for his captivating performance in opera and classical music. Booyens is a vibrant mezzo-soprano who made notable contributions to opera and classical music.
Baritone Christian Van Zyl added to the melodies of the afternoon with his piano performances of Where do I Begin, Hymne à L’amour and Stuur Groete aan Mannetjies Roux.

Marius Bierman’s piano chords of had the audience in awe as he performed Yesterday, Mama Mia, Chariots of Fire and ended with a piano piece of The Best.
Bierman is a skilled pianist and music teacher involved in teaching piano and music theory at the Global House of Music.

The enchanted afternoon ended with an encore by the audience for these top performers.
