Cambridge FC clinches victory against Kempton Park Goal Getter FC

Bridges keep the winning momentum.

Cambridge FC continued their Hollywood Bets League journey with a clash against Kempton Park’s Goal Getter FC at Duduza Stadium on March 22.In a hard-fought battle, Bridges emerged triumphant, securing a 2-1 victory.

Cambridge’s players played with confidence from the onset and dominated the game. The confidence was noticeable, especially after a few good wins under Cambridge’s belt recently.

Mbongiseni Messi Dlamini scored the first goal with a long-range goal within the first 20 minutes.

Dlamini is the son of former Cambridge star player Wetsi Umchine Moloi.

The second half saw both sides trying to get domination but good defence from both brought more attacking opportunities.

After a water break, Cambridge struck for a 2-1 lead when substitute Mthusi Moto Mqele found the back of Goal Setters’ net. The score line remained unchanged for the rest of the match as good defence put paid to attacking play.

“The heat was a factor but we need to adapt to different weather conditions if we want to be a force in the league.
“Goal Getters did very well to disrupt our normal play. As soon as we brought in fresh legs, it lifted the guys again.

We will be happy with the win but there is room to improve,” said head coach John Mourinho Mosia.

“We had to work hard for the result. We must stay in touch with the log leaders and remain focused until the end.
“We request local companies to assist the club financially,” concluded club chairperson Ignatius Maphike.
