Heidelberg bodybuilder wins gold at Goldfields Classic in Welkom

The 55-year-old, training daily at Anabolic Gym in Heidelberg, continues to inspire through discipline, passion, and lifelong dedication to his sport.

Ratanda’s Raymond Ntaopane (55) is proving that age is just a number, as he continues to shine on the bodybuilding stage, earning gold medals and trophies at competitions across the country.

His latest conquest was the Goldfields Classic in Welkom over the weekend of June 28 and 29.

Throughout the competition and its disciplines, Ntoapane showed the judges what he was capable of and finished at the top in his age and weight group.

Ntoapane was a class above the rest and achieved a gold and winners medal and a trophy in the middle heavyweight under-90kg division.

Ntoapane is a member of the IBFF (International Body Building Federation and Fitness SA). He trains at the Anabolic Gym in Heidelberg, where you can see him without fail every morning.

He competes in the 50–60 age group category and in the 90kg men’s division.

“I train every day and believe in being dedicated to the sport. To be successful, you must be dedicated to your sport and go beyond the normal day-to-day existence if you want to succeed,” said Ntoapane.

He started training in bodybuilding in 1993. In 1996, he won his first trophy, and the awards and trophies have not stopped since.

He has competed in multiple competitions around the country and has inspired many athletes to achieve higher accolades.

“Bodybuilding has taught me a lot of lessons, including being humble at all times and being ready to learn new things.

“Also, do not be scared to venture out and try something new. It has brought me fame,but has taught me to be disciplined and dedicated to achieve higher accolades. My motto in life is to love what you do. Live in peace with everyone and spread happiness wherever you can,” concluded Ntoapane.
