Nigel unites for Charity Fun Run to feed hungry schoolchildren

The aim is to assist some of the town’s local schools to feed these children.

A charity fun run on October 3, organised in partnership with SUPERSPAR Angelo Mall, will raise funds to feed schoolchildren who often attend school without meals.

This year, Nigel High School and Laerskool Hannes Visagie will be the beneficiaries.

“We need the support of the public to ensure the success of this event,” said the organiser, David Niebuhr.

“We will have a 2km fun run/walk which will start at the Nigel Rugby Club, continue down Chamberlain Road, up Milner Street, and finish at Angelo Mall.”

All participants will receive a medal, with special recognition for the first-place male and female finishers, first arrival, first boy and girl, eldest participant, and the school with the most participants.

Entries for the fun run will be done at the rugby club from 16:00 on the day.

There will be food stalls, flea market stalls, and entertainment at Angelo Mall.

The public also stands a chance of winning fantastic prizes in a raffle. Prizes include a television, tools, a lamb hamper, vouchers, and more.

Raffle tickets will be available at the event for R20 each. The draw will take place at Angelo Mall at 19:00.

Participants must be present or reachable by phone to qualify; otherwise, a redraw will be held until a winner is confirmed.
