Applications open for Lesedi’s AV and sound studios creators training programme
The Lesedi Local Municipality, in partnership with Boombox Media, has launched a skills development programme aimed at equipping local creatives with practical training in podcasting, video production and sound engineering.
The Lesedi Local Municipality has opened applications for the LLM AV/Sound studios creators training programme, an initiative aimed at developing skills in media production, podcasting and sound engineering.
The programme is implemented in partnership with Boombox Media and is targeted at individuals who are already active or trained in the media and creative industries.
Municipal spokesperson Katleho Seaga said the programme is intended to strengthen local creative capacity while creating pathways for employment and entrepreneurship.
“The municipality recognises the growing role of digital media, podcasting and sound production in the local and national economy.
“This is aimed at equipping creatives with practical, industry relevant skills that will enable them to participate meaningfully in this space. By providing access to professional studio facilities and technical training, the municipality is investing in local talent and supporting the development of sustainable creative careers,” he said.
The training will focus on both podcast and sound production. Areas covered include studio technical operations, recording and mixing, podcast production, video production and editing, presenting techniques, as well as music and vocal recording, voice overs, mixing and dubbing.
Applications are open to media studies graduates in journalism, radio or television production, sound engineering and production graduates, content creators, podcasters with existing platforms, audiovisual podcasters, and music producers and artists.
Applicants must submit a one-page motivation explaining their interest in the programme and how it will support their career development, along with a work sample such as a podcast episode or music production.
Applications can be submitted by scanning the QR code on the official poster or via the application link provided.
Selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to applicants meeting the qualifying criteria.
