Heidelberg water supply stable as Emmasdal pump repairs continue
Lesedi Local Municipality has confirmed that water supply across Heidelberg, Rensburg and surrounding areas remains stable, although repair work on the Emmasdal pump is still underway.
Residents in Heidelberg, Rensburg, and surrounding areas are currently receiving a stable water supply despite ongoing repairs to one of the municipal pumps.
According to the latest water status update released on March 4, Lesedi Local Municipality confirmed that the overall water supply across its reservoirs remains in good condition.
The municipality reported that the intake pressure from Rand Water is currently at 400 KPA, which continues to support steady water flow into the municipal system.
Reservoir levels across the area are also healthy. The Heidelberg Command reservoir and Emmasdal reservoir are both operating at 100% capacity, while the Rensburg reservoir is currently sitting at 60%.
Despite the lower level at the Rensburg reservoir, municipal officials indicated that water supply across all areas remains stable and is classified as good. The municipality has urged residents to continue using water sparingly to help maintain reservoir levels while maintenance work is being finalised.
Residents experiencing water-related issues are encouraged to contact the municipal call centre on 016 456 1901 for assistance.
