Dr Itumeleng Molatlhegi appointed acting CEO of Leratong Hospital
Leratong Hospital has appointed Heidelberg Hospital CEO Dr Itumeleng Molatlhegi as its new acting CEO, bringing over 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to the role.
Leratong Hospital has officially appointed Heidelberg Hospital CEO, Dr Itumeleng Molatlhegi, as its new acting chief executive officer, with immediate effect.
The appointment marks a significant leadership transition for the hospital, as she brings over two decades of medical and administrative experience to the role.
She has been part of the Gauteng Department of Health since 2009, where she has held several senior positions and built a reputation for strong leadership and commitment to patient care.
Before this appointment, she served as clinical manager at Bheki Mlangeni District Hospital and later as CEO of Heidelberg Hospital. During her tenure, she was recognised for her hands-on leadership style and efforts to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.
Her expertise also extends to healthcare innovation.
Molatlhegi previously served as clinical lead for the Gauteng Department of Health’s Health Information Systems project, also known as eMed, where she contributed to strengthening digital healthcare systems across the province.
