Nigel Rugby Club endured a difficult day at the office as both its first and second teams suffered defeats against Brakpan Rugby Club during league fixtures played at the John Vorster Stadium in Nigel on May 30.

The first-team encounter proved to be a tightly contested affair, with Nigel demonstrating determination and defensive resilience throughout.

However, Brakpan capitalised on their opportunities and maintained control in key moments to secure a 33-17 victory.

Despite enjoying periods of possession and territorial advantage, Nigel was unable to convert scoring opportunities into points as Brakpan’s defence stood firm.

The visitors’ disciplined performance ultimately proved decisive in a match that was more competitive than the scoreline may suggest.

The second-team fixture saw Brakpan deliver a commanding display, running in a succession of tries to claim a comprehensive 56-7 victory.
