New Rensburg Forum emergency hotline aims to boost community safety

The Rensburg Forum has introduced a dedicated emergency hotline for residents of Rensburg and Heidelberg, encouraging the public to use the service responsibly for genuine emergencies only.

Residents of Rensburg and Heidelberg now have access to a dedicated emergency hotline following the launch of the Rensburg Forum’s official Emergency Hotline.

The initiative provides the community with a single point of contact for urgent incidents requiring an immediate response.

According to the Rensburg Forum, the hotline forms part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen community safety and improve coordination between residents, volunteers and emergency response partners.

The emergency hotline should be used to report crimes in progress, suspicious activity, medical emergencies requiring an ambulance, motor vehicle accidents, fires and other life-threatening situations, as well as incidents where there is an immediate risk to life, safety or property.

The forum has urged residents to use the hotline responsibly and only for genuine emergencies. Non-urgent matters such as electricity outages, water or municipal service complaints, general enquiries and incidents that no longer require an immediate response should be reported through the relevant service providers.

Rensburg Forum said keeping the emergency hotline available for urgent incidents will allow volunteers and emergency partners to respond more efficiently when every second counts.

The organisation thanked residents for their continued support and cooperation, adding that community safety remains a shared responsibility.

Residents are encouraged to save the emergency hotline number, 076 052 1300, and make use of it only when urgent assistance is required.
