The Nigel police community is mourning the death of Warrant Officer George Stewart, who was killed in a motor vehicle accident in the early hours of August 13.

The accident occurred while Stewart was reportedly travelling from Nigel towards Heidelberg.

Stewart, who served in the Nigel Detective Branch, is being remembered by colleagues and friends as a dedicated police officer who demonstrated professionalism and commitment to his work.

Ochrana Risk Solutions also expressed its condolences to Stewart’s family, friends and colleagues, describing it as an honour to have worked alongside him.

ORS also extended its condolences to Colonel Louise Droskie and the entire police station team, saying the past two weeks had been particularly difficult following the loss of two members of the police family.

Stewart’s death has left a significant void within the Nigel Detective Branch and among those who worked alongside him in the fight against crime.

His family, friends, colleagues and fellow members of the police service are now mourning the loss of an officer whose service and dedication will be remembered.
