Generation Dance has returned from the recently held 2026 World Dance Masters World Championships in Blackpool, England, with an impressive collection of international results, including two world titles and a second-place finish for its GD Vixens Country Classic team.

The Generation Dance contingent consisted of 11 dancers representing Nigel, Heidelberg and Balfour, who competed against dancers from around the world in solo, partner and team categories.

The championships, held in July, provided a major international platform for the dancers, with the local team producing several outstanding performances.

Loretha Viljoen-Oosthuyzen secured one of the team’s two world titles after winning the Intermediate Gold solo category, while Ferdi Kruger claimed the Newcomer Silver world title. Christa-Mari Jordaan added a silver medal after finishing second in Newcomer Silver.

Other notable solo results saw Bianca Gloy and Jackie de Vries finish fourth in Advanced Open and Intermediate Silver respectively, while Liza-Ann Pienaar placed fifth in Novice Crystal.

Zanie Le Grange progressed to the semi-finals in Newcomer Open. At the same time, Nadia Glad, Amy Erasmus, Deonè Erasmus, Clarissa Erasmus and Dulante Glad reached the quarter-finals in their respective categories.

The team also delivered strong results in the partner and group divisions. The GD Vixens Country Classic team was one of the major highlights, finishing second out of 13 teams from around the world at the World Dance Masters in Blackpool.

The achievement adds to the team’s impressive domestic record.

The GD Vixens have won the South African Masters Country Classic Teams division for the past four consecutive years, establishing themselves as a leading team in the discipline.

Warren and Bianca also secured second place in Advanced Couples, while Jackie and Deonè claimed third place in Senior Duos. Deonè and Clarissa finished fourth in Charity Duos.

In the Teen Partners category, Tyler and Amy reached the semi-finals after progressing through two elimination rounds. At the same time, Clarissa and Amy also advanced to the semi-finals in Open Duos.

Coach Deon Erasmus praised the dancers for their commitment and performances at the championships. “We are incredibly proud of every dancer who represented us in Blackpool.

“These results are a reflection of their dedication, discipline and the countless hours of preparation that went into this competition. Winning two world titles and seeing the GD Vixens finish second out of 13 teams is a tremendous achievement,” said Erasmus.
