Rensburg Forum calls for stronger patrol participation ahead of mass patrol

Rensburg Forum has called on its members to increase their participation in community patrols, saying the organisation has become increasingly concerned about the low turnout in recent weeks.

The forum says that despite having a large group of patrollers, the responsibility of responding to patrol requests and community safety activities continues to fall on the same small group of members.

In a notice to its patrollers, the forum urged members to take their responsibilities seriously and become more actively involved in the organisation’s efforts to improve safety in Rensburg.

The forum emphasised that membership should involve more than simply being part of the group, with members expected to contribute their time and support when the community requires assistance.

The appeal comes ahead of a mass patrol scheduled for September 4, which the organisation says will require strong participation from its members.

According to the forum, significant information and activity have been monitored over the past three months, while plans have been prepared for the upcoming operation.

All available patrollers have consequently been urged to make the necessary arrangements to participate in the mass patrol.

The forum acknowledged that members have work, family and other personal responsibilities, but appealed to those who are available to make an effort to attend.

The organisation said a strong turnout would be important in demonstrating unity among its members and strengthening community-based safety efforts in Rensburg.

Residents and community members are also encouraged to support initiatives aimed at improving safety and cooperation within the community.
