SAVF Heidelberg highlights achievements and challenges at 2026 AGM
Key role-players gather in Rensburg to address service challenges and outline ongoing support for vulnerable families.
SAVF Heidelberg Social Services held its annual general meeting on September 15, bringing staff and stakeholders together to reflect on the organisation’s work, challenges and continued commitment to vulnerable children, families and individuals.
The AGM was held at SAVF Heidelberg’s premises in Rensburg.
Chairperson Engela Hinds delivered the chairperson’s report, reflecting on the organisation’s activities and its role in supporting the community. “Our work is about making a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Every day, our staff members are committed to supporting children and families, and we must continue working together to ensure that our services reach those who need them most,” she said.
Elize McGluwa, regional manager of SAVF, presented the meeting and voting procedures, ensuring attendees understood how the AGM would be conducted.
“It is important that everyone understands the procedures and has an opportunity to participate. The AGM provides a platform for transparency, accountability and ensuring that the organisation continues to move forward together,” she said.
Bongekile Mkhwanazi, chief social worker, presented the management report, giving an overview of the organisation’s operations and highlighting challenges encountered while delivering services to the community.
“Despite the challenges we face, our focus remains on supporting the people who need our services. Social work requires dedication, compassion and teamwork, and we will continue doing our best to respond to the needs of the community,” she said.
Waldu Pelser presented the financial statements and provided an overview of the organisation’s financial position during the reporting period.
Social workers also delivered their report, highlighting the work carried out among beneficiaries and the services provided to children, families and other vulnerable members of the community.
The AGM allowed SAVF Heidelberg to account for its activities, address challenges affecting service delivery, and reaffirm its commitment to the community.
