Lesedi Local Municipality has appointed Epitome Consulting to conduct water network assessments across the municipal area as part of efforts to identify and reduce water losses.

The assessments are scheduled to take place from September 17 to October 30 and will cover areas throughout Lesedi, including surrounding areas where necessary.

The municipality said the work forms part of its Water Conservation and Water Demand Management Programme, which aims to improve the efficiency of the water distribution network and strengthen the reliability of water services.

Epitome Consulting will conduct a range of technical assessments, including water network and District Metered Area tests, flow-rate measurements and inspections of municipal water infrastructure.

The consultants will also collect technical data to help identify areas where water losses can be reduced and assess the performance and efficiency of the existing distribution system.

As part of the work, authorised personnel may require access to private properties, businesses and institutions where municipal infrastructure such as water meters, valves and pipelines is located.

The municipality has urged residents and property owners to cooperate with the assessment teams when access is reasonably required.

Residents have also been advised to verify the identity of personnel before allowing access to their properties.

According to the municipality, Epitome Consulting personnel will carry official company identification and travel in clearly branded vehicles displaying the company’s name and logo.

The municipality said the assessments would be carried out in a professional and safe manner, with efforts made to minimise disruption to residents and businesses.
