Heidelberg Hospital staff came together on September 24 to celebrate Heritage Day, embracing South Africa’s cultural diversity through traditional chanting, singing and dancing while promoting unity and nation-building.
Heidelberg Hospital staff came together to celebrate Heritage Day on September 24, sharing a message of unity in diversity and the importance of staying true to their cultural identities.
The Heritage Day celebration provided staff with an opportunity to embrace South Africa’s rich cultural diversity while reflecting on the importance of knowing and preserving their roots.
Heidelberg Hospital acting chief executive officer Senate Sejake highlighted the significance of Heritage Month, particularly in Gauteng, where people from different cultural backgrounds live and work alongside one another.
“Heritage Month means we should know our roots, so that we know where we come from and keep the spirit of nation-building. Living in Gauteng Province is so beautiful during times like these. You get to experience everyone’s culture because this province has all of them. Seeing all of you as mixed cultures is such a wonderful experience,” she said.
The celebration featured vibrant cultural performances, with staff members showcasing traditional chanting, singing, and dance moves.
