Mayor Nkosi honours Ratanda community legend Glen Mohlomi

Ratanda community legend Glen Mohlomi was honoured for his longstanding contribution to the community during an appreciation event attended by Lesedi Local Municipality Executive Mayor Clr Mluleki Nkosi on September 24.

The event brought together community members to recognise Mohlomi’s contribution to Ratanda, particularly through his involvement in music, education and youth development.

Mohlomi has dedicated much of his life to mentoring and empowering young people and learners, using his passion for music and education to inspire and guide the next generation.

Nkosi emphasised the importance of recognising community members who dedicate themselves to serving and uplifting others.

“I deliberately wore the mayoral chain today because I wanted to demonstrate the highest level of honour and respect for a gallant individual who has dedicated so much of his life to our community. Mr Mohlomi’s contribution, particularly to our young people, deserves to be recognised and celebrated,” he said.

The mayor also stressed the importance of celebrating individuals during their lifetime and allowing them to see the impact their work has had on the community.

The event highlighted Mohlomi’s contribution to Ratanda’s social and cultural fabric, with his work in education, music, and youth development leaving a lasting legacy.

Community members were encouraged to continue recognising and appreciating individuals who play a meaningful role in building and developing their communities.
