Water disruptions expected in parts of Heidelberg as emergency repairs begin

Residents, businesses, and schools in parts of Heidelberg may experience water supply disruptions today, October 8, as Lesedi Local Municipality carries out emergency infrastructure repairs at the Emmasdal Water Pump Station.

The municipality issued a public notice advising affected communities that repair work will involve the replacement of a pump control valve at the Emmasdal Pump Station.

The work is scheduled from 08:00 to 16:00 and is expected to affect Emmasdal, Luckhoff, parts of Obed Nkosi, and Heidelberg Extensions 23 and 26.

According to the municipality, the repairs are necessary to improve the reliability of the water supply infrastructure.

Residents in the affected areas are therefore urged to make preparations for possible interruptions during the repair period.

Lesedi Local Municipality apologised for any inconvenience caused by the work. Residents requiring further information can contact the municipality’s customer care centre on 016 466 1900/1.
