Thanking our men in blue

On April 8, I travelled from my office in Midrand to the Heidelberg SAPS to request a document.

I was travelling on the N3 highway when I missed my turn. I quickly took a wrong turn not realising that a flying squad vehicle was patrolling on the N3 highway.

All I heard was a police siren and when I checked, it was a flying squad vehicle that was stopping me. They greeted me and asked why I was changing routes carelessly.

I explained to them that I was lost and that I was heading to Heidelberg SAPS. They asked me for my licence as they were doing their normal work. The officers’ names were Ramara, Sikhakhane and Tladi.

These gentlemen accompanied me, leading the way so that I wouldn’t get lost. After a few kilometres, they pulled over and showed me a simple way to the station.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank these gentlemen. If we had more policemen like those mentioned, this country would be better. Thank you very much.

Molefe Segale.
