Later, Nigel scored another try, and again East Rand Police replied with one of their own. At that point, a person would have thought the game would be tight.

With an injury to the hooker of East Rand Police, the match was played with uncontested scrums because they did not have a qualified hooker on the bench to replace the injured player. That blunted Nigel’s attack for a while.

Nigel scored three more tries in the first half without conceding further points.
