A week of fast-paced action, rising youth talent and vibrant community spirit defined the Ratanda Easter community games netball tournament, which concluded on a high note at the Ratanda Multipurpose Hall from March 28 to April 6.
The tournament featured teams competing in U15, U19 and senior divisions, with daily matches delivering high-energy action and showcasing talent.
Spectators were treated to a series of competitive and closely fought encounters, as teams battled for top honours across all age groups.

The tournament was supported by the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Lesedi Netball and Lesedi Local Municipality, all playing a key role in ensuring the event’s success.
In the U15 division, Golden Eagles emerged victorious with 15 points, followed by Unstoppable with nine points and Soul Sisters with three points.
The U19 category saw another strong performance from Golden Eagles, who secured top position with eight points, narrowly edging Soul Sisters on seven points, while Unstoppable finished with four points.
In the senior division, Ratanda United claimed top honours with 19 points, ahead of Lesedi Senior, who finished with 15 points.

Winning teams walked away with trophies, medals and netball kits, recognising their dedication and performance on the court.
Lebohang Tutubala of Lesedi Netball acknowledged both the success of the tournament and the challenges encountered in organising it.
“We are incredibly proud of how the tournament turned out. The level of talent and commitment from our players has been outstanding. One of the biggest challenges is securing a consistent sponsorship because hosting events like this requires resources for equipment, facilities and prizes.
“We rely heavily on partnerships and community support, and we hope to attract more sponsors going forward to help us grow and sustain these opportunities for our young players,” she said.
