Heidelberg Hospital’s Sister Mokgosana shines at Two Oceans Marathon

A Heidelberg Hospital nurse has earned praise after completing the grueling 56km ultra-marathon in Cape Town, showcasing determination, resilience and a commitment to healthy living.

Heidelberg Hospital has congratulated Sr Tsholofelo Mokgosana from its Clinical Engineering Unit after she successfully completed the gruelling 56km ultramarathon at the Two Oceans Marathon in Cape Town on April 12.

Mokgosana’s achievement has been praised as a testament to her dedication, endurance and resilience.

Speaking after the race, Makgosna described the experience as both challenging and rewarding.

“The race was tough, but it was an improvement from last year, and I am proud of my performance. My goal was to finish within six hours, and I’m happy with what I achieved,” she said.

Her accomplishment comes as part of a broader effort by the Gauteng Health Athletics Club, which fielded a team of 36 runners at the prestigious event. Participants competed in both the 56km ultramarathon and the 21.1km half-marathon.

The Department of Health said the participation of its staff reflects an ongoing commitment to promoting wellness, physical fitness and healthy lifestyles among healthcare workers.
