Mzumbe Masters League continues strong action as coordinator appeals for support
Exciting matches unfolded at Obed Nkosi Sports ground, but league coordinator Elvis Mahlangu has raised concerns over the lack of proper facilities and basic equipment, calling on the community to lend support.
The Mzumbe Masters League continued with another round of fixtures in its second league, held at Obed Nkosi Sports Ground on April 19.
Teams delivered competitive performances across the board, with several decisive results shaping the latest standings.
Abadlali FC and Jusca FC played to a goalless draw in a tightly contested encounter, with neither able to break the deadlock despite creating chances.
Sky City FC secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Hot Beans, showcasing strong attacking play and solid defence throughout. Madrid FC matched that performance with an emphatic 3-0 win against Amajita FC, maintaining pressure on the league’s top contenders.
In one of the more closely fought matches of the day, Heidelberg FC edged out Army Gym FC 2-1 in a spirited contest.
League Coordinator Elvis Mahlangu highlighted ongoing challenges, particularly the lack of adequate facilities and equipment.

“We are doing our best to keep the league running and to give these players a platform, but we are facing serious challenges.
“We do not have a proper sports ground, and many of our players do not even have basic equipment like soccer boots. Any assistance, whether in the form of equipment, funding, or improvements to our facilities, would make a huge difference.
“We welcome anyone who is willing to support or contribute to contact me directly,” he said.
