The Heidelberg Club Hockey ladies produced a commanding performance on May 16 as they secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Naledi Warriors Ladies in an exciting local hockey encounter.

Heidelberg asserted themselves early in the match, displaying sharp attacking movement, disciplined structure and effective ball control to place Naledi Warriors under constant pressure.

Their ability to transition quickly from defence to attack proved decisive as they dictated the pace of the game for large periods.

The hosts capitalised on their early dominance by opening the scoring before creating further dangerous opportunities inside the attacking circle.

Naledi Warriors showed resilience and found the back of the net, but Heidelberg maintained composure and responded with clinical finishing to extend their advantage and secure the comfortable win.

Defensively, Heidelberg remained organised throughout the encounter, limiting Naledi Warriors’ attacking chances while maintaining intensity across all areas of the field. Heidelberg coach Rowleen Welsh praised her side’s overall performance, describing the victory as a reward for the team’s commitment and hard work.

“The players showed great discipline, teamwork and determination throughout the match. We focused on maintaining possession, applying pressure and taking our opportunities when they came, and the team executed the game plan very well.
