Heidelberg Arts and Music Festival launched on April 2
The Heidelberg Arts and Music Festival was launched by Lesedi Local Municipality and various business partners on April 2.

Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM) together with various business partners wants to encourage investment opportunities in Heidelberg through music and cultural events. The Heidelberg Arts and Music Festival will be held from April 30 to May 3 in and around Heidelberg and Ratanda featuring a variety of performances from standup comedy, music performances and soccer matches. The event will be held annually and the aim is to promote economic empowerment of individual artists and small businesses and turn them into solid business models.
Through the music festival, LLM and their partners want to develop community members’ arts, crafts and heritage industries, identify and develop tourism opportunities and create an entertainment and activity program to attract both local residents and the public at large and featuring local artists and performers.
The festival will start of on April 30 with the Lesedi Comedy Show from 19:00 until 23:00 at Heidelberg Town Hall. Sisters with Voices music night will be held on May 1 from 19:00 until 23:00 at the Ratanda Multipurpose Centre and the ‘Waar was jy’ music concert with various artists such as Zola, Magesh, Brickz, Bozza, Nemza, Swayo Gropu and Woza Africa together with various DJs on May 2 from 10:00 until 13:00 at the Shalimar Ridge Stadium.
The festival will end on May 3 with a soccer extravaganza from 08:00 until 18:00 at Ratanda Stadium, featuring Ratanda Masters, Orlando Pirates Legends and various teams from local secondary schools. Live entertainment will be provided by local artists and DJs.
