Ratanda hip-hop artist needs your vote

Local hip-hop artist Siphiwe Ndhlovu has been nominated for the best hip hop artist of the year at the Mama 2020 Awards (Mzansi Arts and Media awards), which will take place later this year.

When he takes to the stage and position himself behind a microphone as a rapper, he does so under the stage name K-9, but this talented performer from Ratanda has been around the block for a while.

K-9 has been in the music industry for over a decade (performing on the side-line) and said he is mainly inspired by the likes of hip hop. Groups such as Skwatta kamp and the likes of hidden Force always inspired him, which ultimately resulted in him picking up the pen and rapping his way towards the limelight.

If you think you may recognise him, it is because K-9 is often seen in the popular South African television soapie – Generations, the legacy.

In addition, he also has no less than three projects under his name, all released independently namely Thoughtz of kriminal-2015 (Mixtape); Sokol Fontein-2016 (Mixtape) and Grinding-2018 (Ep).

He is currently working on his fourth album which will drop later this year around October, titled Urban Legend. On his latest project, K-9 has worked with the likes of Hoodlum and Shotgunflava and Neo Beats Jt the voice, Ron epidemic and Owzito, Cokayn, Ruff, Dj Zenke to name a few.

However, he is determined to be crowned the winner of the Mama 2020 Awards, but K-9 needs your support and your vote to help him achieve his goal.

Voting takes place digitally and supporters can send an sms with the words: Mama106 to 40439. Each sms costs R2. Voting lines will close on September 30.
