The Thandisizwe Day Care Centre celebrated its class of 2025 on November 8.
Eighteen young learners graduated, prepared to take their first steps into primary school.
The ceremony, held at Ratanda’s Mgagatho events centre, celebrated growth, learning and community support.
Principal Lettie Kekana described the event as joyful, “Graduating our young learners is one of the most rewarding moments of the year.
Seeing their confidence, curiosity, and excitement reminds us why we dedicate ourselves to nurturing each child. We are proud of every learner and grateful to our parents, educators and board members, who support us in creating an environment where children can thrive,” she said.

Since opening in 1991, the centre has played a crucial role in preparing Ratanda’s children for primary school. Long-time caregiver and founder Sonto Khumalo reflected on the centre’s legacy and appealed for community support.
“Watching our little learners graduate is a moment of pride for all of us. Each child’s growth and confidence remind us why we started this centre many years ago.
“As we celebrate the class of 2025, we are also looking ahead and seeking support from the community and local businesses. We are appealing for sponsors to assist us with building materials to continue improving our facilities so that every child can learn and grow in a safe, nurturing environment. Together, we can build a stronger future for our children,” she said.
