More than 210 residents from KwaZanele Ext 3 and 4 in Breyten received title deeds from Msukaligwa Municipality at the KwaZanele Community Hall on Wednesday, 10 January.
This comes after residents occupied the low cost housing (RDPs) without ownership documents for 12 years.
“We are giving you legal ownership to your homes,” Executive Mayor of Msukaligwa, Mr Buti Mkhaliphi, said.
“We hope these documents can better your households and give you the dignity you deserve.”
Mr Mkhaliphi also spoke of the importance of land ownership by the community.
“In this government, ownership of houses or land will became a reality.”
