Msukaligwa Municipality closes communication gap with community as it joins social media
“This platform will allow the community to be informed and in the know of what is happening at the municipality because we try by all means to be forthcoming with information,” Mr Mandla Zwane, Municipal spokesman, said.
Msukaligwa Municipality has joined online social media platforms to close the communication gap with the community at large where they can interact with the municipality.
The municipality joined Facebook and Twitter and has since interacted with its community members regarding a range of topics, including service delivery.
They also provide information and notices regarding electricity, water, and appointments at the institution.
“This platform will allow the community the opportunity be in-the-know of municipal activities and what is happening at the municipality,” Mr Mandla Zwane, municipal spokesman, said.
The community will also be glad to know that the municipal call centre and website will be revamped if and when the budget is approved.
This means municipal enquiries by residents will be dealt with faster and efficiently.
Mr Zwane appealed to the community to use the platform for relevant issues, that of service delivery and refrain from posting unwarranted and frivolous comments or complaints.
“Communication is key and this is the municipality’s initiative to get closer to the people on the ground to ensure instantaneous information-sharing, thus improving service delivery,” Mr Zwane concluded.
Residents can visit the municipal Facebook Page at “Msukaligwa Local Municipality“, their Twitter handle is @MsukaligwaLM and residents can also send WhatsApp messages, videos, pictures and voice notes to 079 503 6729.
