Morgenzon Police are investigating three cases of assault and discharging of a firearm in a public space, after an incident took place on 25 August at the municipal office in Morgenzon.
According to Const Nzimande, spokesman for Morgenzon Police, Mr Bongani Phakathi allegedly discharged his firearm during a council meeting in Morgenzon.
No injuries were reported.
He added that Mr Phakathi was arrested and appeared in Morgenzon Magistrate’s Court on 27 August.
He was released on R1 000 bail and the case was postponed to 17 September.
